Automatically Correcting Red Eyes

When I take photos with flash the camera automatically detects red eye and fixes them. However the fix is awful and looks ridiculous. Is there a way I can turn this feature off?

Red eye reduction in video? I've got a bunch of video with nasty red eye in it. What can I do? I tried using chroma key, but that didn't work. I know that still photo apps can fix this, but it is several minutes of video.

iOS 17, where is the red eye tool? It’s nowhere to be found when I go to edit the photo that has red eyes. Where’d the red eye tool go? It used to be in the “edit” on whichever photo. Now there’s no eye symbol anywhere. Using the newest iOS 17.1.2
