Problems macOs Ventura and Photos App.

After downloading macOs Ventura to my iMac. Editing photos in the Photos app is having problems. I use a Nikon Z7, i shoot in raw. Photos are nice and clear from the camera card. When i edited thru Photos App, photos are blurry and not focused. Had no problems with Monterey. Called Apple support, no help.

mac Photo sine my mac updated to Monterey mac photos is not working properly I can import RAW images from my camera to my hard drive via photos, however i use photos to lightly edit my images if needs be. I am able to edit the images however it doesn't seem to save the edit sometimes it does then when i go to export them to upload to my photography page they revert back to the original un edited image. i don't even think its saving the edit to my hard drive :( does anyone know what's going on if its because of the recent software update or potentially something else?? much appreciated thank you

Issues with editing pictures using "photos" Looking for an explanation/solution to me problem editing pictures using "Photos" I'm using a Late 2011 13' MacBook Pro. I am able to crop or rotate the image, but as soon as I try to adjust the colours or lighting on my RAW images taken from my DSLR I get the below image. I have tried repairing the library, and have also opened a new library and imported 1 picture into that library and the same problem exists when I try to edit. I will also occasionally get the missing thumbnail or blacked out picture in place of the blue screen below, but after restarting the picture can be viewed again with no issues (but not edited) All photos are stored on internal Mac hard drive. Running macOS Sierra 10.12.6 with no updates showing available for my MacBook Pro. Thanks for any help or input.

Photos with unavailable original files cannot be opened. The original photo is either offline or cannot be found. Photos taken in RAW on Sony DSLR A6400. Imported on MACPro 2023 to photo. However when Memory card is ejected. and despite being able to see the picture within the Imports Folder, whenever I try to open the picture I receive the message : Missing File Photos with unavailable original files cannot be opened. The original photo “DSC00602.ARW” is either offline or cannot be found. Click Find Original to ...... Unbelievably frustrating as I specifically purchased the MPro to manage my photos. Additionally. in many cases ( yet seemingly random) pictures which can be opened, once edited in Photos become blurry and no longer in the original definition. There was a work-around of rotating the picture prior to saving . But this no longer works. If anyone knows how to fix the pictures/Photos issues- I would be very grateful..

I’ve had a similar blurry image problem for the last 7 months. Using Photos with iCloud from an iPhone 14 Pro and ProMax as well as a Sony a7c and an Olympus OM-1 II. So its not the devices, its the software. Seems to me this happened a a couple years ago as well, but I don’t recall the solution, although the problem resolved. I initially thought it was simply that the photos were taking a very long time to upload to the iCloud but now I’m not sure and I doubt it.

Has anyone received definitive answers from Apple?

Do you see this problem still. I think it is fixed for Sony ARW files now.

Curious if you are still encountering this issue? It seems fixed for Sony ARW files (ditto the supplanting of generic icons for raw images with expected thumbnail icons. (OS 13.4.1). Been so busy playing with DXO 6 I had forgotten about the issues, but seems fixed, without fanfare.

Doesn’t seem to be occurring anymore. Most were iPhone images. I’ll check with my editor.

It's still an issue and I'm not using iCloud but my computer

Ventura 13.4.1 and Apple Photos 🙄 : so many bugs!

Importing from a memory card is a rolled dice, sometime it does and quickly

other times is stuck for ever and has nothing to do with the number of photos imported. There are Sony ARW photos

I tried to quit several processes linked to Photos but at that point the only solution is at least to log out and back in.

I'm working on a brand new Mac Studio M2 , 32GB memory: not a memory concern...

RAW photos cannot be edited by Photos tools: they blur immediately.

Even RAW photos from iPhone get the same blurry effect beside I have to import them twice because the first time there are no photos imported.

Any other plugin from other apps, Affinity Photos, Pixelmator, RawPower works.

In Monterey Photos was working with none of these issues

I reported to Apple but it's very disappointing

Do you use DXO 6 as your photo organizer?
