Read messages

I wanted to know why some iMessages say read to certain people but to others I can’t see it. And on top of that, some even can see if I read their message and what time but I can’t see if they read mine

In order to see if someone has read your message, that person, the one you sent the message to, must have Read Receipts enabled. If they have it enabled, you'll be able to see if they have read your message regardless of what the setting is on your phone. Conversely, if they have that feature disabled but you have it turned on on your phone, you will not see if they have read your message.


The recipient controls whether or not their message is marked as "read".
