Elderly parent stuck in some sort of memoji mode and can't get out

My mom has an iphone and frequently hits things she didn't mean to. I'm not sure exactly what she's done, so not sure how to help. Can anyone figure out what's going on and how we can fix it? (you'll notice she's struggling with texting too, but she usually manages to get her point across)......
