Noticing you have come from the "Related Article" above your question:

so I guess nothing in there has helped ... you may also have directions that came with the AirPods.


You don't say: so I guess it is to iPhone that you are trying to connect.


If you haven't already, you might want to try wearing your AirPods,

and

on iPhone: Try Settings > Bluetooth > tap "Not Connected"
