Apple Music - Doesn't work half of the time

Hello,

I just have a question in regard to the Apple Music on my iPhone. I listen to music on a daily when I'm driving to and from work and also around the house. It is very frustrating when I get into my car to listen to my music, and it doesn't want to work or the songs that I selected never play and just automatically skip to the next song. Another issue is the app will just kick me right out of the entire application for no reason at all. I do not know what the issue seems to be, I pay for my apple music every month, I have added all my songs into my library, and I have downloaded all the songs to my phone. It is just frustrating when I pay a decent amount of money every month and don't even receive what I am supposed to. It has gotten to the point where I have thought about switching to a different musical application. With all this being said I'm just wondering what there is to offer or if there is any way that this can be resolved?

Thank you,

iPhone XR, iOS 15

Hello haleygundersonn,

Thanks for your post to Apple Support Communities. We understand you have multiple issues with the Music app on your iPhone. We have some steps to work through that should help.

  1. Make sure your iOS is the latest version, iOS 15.7.1 or iOS 16.1: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
  2. Force the Music app to close, then restart your iPhone and test it again: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
  3. Delete the Music app, then redownload it: Delete built-in Apple apps from the Home Screen on your iOS 14 or later or iPadOS device or Apple Watch - Apple Support

If you do end up at the step to delete the Music app, when you redownload it, you may have to recreate any playlists and download any songs you had before. Keep this in mind if you get to this point because the other steps didn't resolve all the issues with the Music app.

Reply back with any concerns, questions, and how these steps help.

Warm regards.
