in iMessage there is an option to share my location with my friend (Share Indefinitely).
do you now how to activate the live location when the contact picture has a flashing green color around it and not the Now location.

Full details on sharing your location, including in the Messages app, are outlined at Find people and share your location with Find My.
Live location, when available, will be shown on the People Tab of the Find My app. For further questions, use Apple Support to investigate further with AppleCare.
