The above information is now outdated and no longer the case. If you want to use the Export function to export your file into another format in any of the newest versions of iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), you can no longer do that from the “…” menu within an opened document. Instead, back out of the document to the file folder containing that document, long press on the document you wish to export, select “Share,” and then the familiar options will appear in a pop-up window, including the option to Export into other formats. I’m not sure why this move has been done, since it still doesn’t allow you to select multiple documents to export as a batch (I tried, no dice; Export option doesn’t appear when multiple files are selected). Maybe it was to be more like Microsoft??? In any case, I hope this helps!

Okay, so I did some experimenting and found that the export function is still available from within an opened document, just not in the place it was before, so you do not have to exit the document to export it. As I said above, it is no longer available when you press the “…” in the upper right tool bar, but I found that it is available when you press on the name of the file in the upper left toolbar. A number of options appear here that used to be in the “…” menu, including export and print, and Share, though that function has been reduced to an icon floating just after the name of your file.

Hi healthyoptions,

The following steps address what you're describing specifically, and should provide a solution:

  1. "Open the spreadsheet, then tap the More button.
  2. Tap Export, then tap a format:
    • PDF: These files can be opened and sometimes edited with applications like Preview and Adobe Acrobat. Choose a layout option (print settings uses the default printer settings). To include comments, select “Fit each sheet to a single page”, then turn on Comments. If you added image, drawing, audio or video descriptions for assistive technology (for example, VoiceOver), they’re automatically exported. To include accessibility tags for large tables, tap Accessibility, then tap On. After choosing page layout and other settings, tap Export in the top-right corner of PDF Options.
    • Excel: Choose whether to create an Excel worksheet for each sheet or for each table in your Numbers spreadsheet (if there is more than one sheet or table). If you choose One Per Table, you can include a summary worksheet with links to all the tables. These files can be opened and edited with Microsoft Excel in .xlsx format.
    • CSV: Cell contents are shown as values separated by commas in the exported file.
    • TSV: Cell contents are shown as values separated by tab stops in the exported file.
  • Numbers Template: Your spreadsheet is saved as a template in the Template Chooser.
  1. Tap one of the options for sending, saving or posting the spreadsheet.
  2. Choose a location or provide the requested information (an email address if you’re sending an email, for example), then send or post the copy."
