See above. Why do I always have to manually download updates when the auto update is “on”?

When automatic updates is enabled on your iPad and iPhone, it is expected for the app update to be installed automatically within about six weeks of release. After this period of time expires, update notifications are sent out in waves over time so as to not overload the App Store or the app developer's servers.
If you want an app updated immediately after an update is released, then manual installation of the update is required. This has more info: How to manually update apps on your Apple device
If apps still aren't updating automatically after its been more than six weeks since the update was released, let us know so that we can assist further.

Automatic updates on my phone and ipad are both “on” but never automatically update. I have to always ask if one is availed and then do it manually. Pain in the ***!!!
