Church Bells/grandfather clock on iPhone 13

I am not using a navigation app right now and I just heard church bells with no notification. It was at a strange time, 11:16 am. This has been happening for a few weeks. Any ideas why I’m hearing this and how to turn it off? Thanks!

Hi Fraja0908,

The following steps address what you're describing specifically, and should provide a solution if you look in your Settings to see anything set to alert you that might be related to bells ringing:

  1. "Go to Settings  > Sounds & Haptics.
  2. To set the volume for all sounds, drag the slider below Ringtone and Alert Volume.
  3. To set the tones and vibration patterns for sounds, tap a sound type, such as ringtone or text tone.
  4. Do any of the following:
  • Choose a tone (scroll to see them all).
    • Ringtones play for incoming calls, clock alarms, and the clock timer; text tones are used for text messages, new voicemail, and other alerts."

You can find these steps along with other information that may be helpful, here: Change iPhone sounds and vibrations

If don't see any apps set with something similar to bells, you can use the steps here to close your apps before 11:16 am to identify which app it may be that is alerting you: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

Cheers!
