iTunes on Snow Leopard, no longer can access purchaces

Does anyone else have this issue? I know it's a niche problem, but I have a 24" Late '06 iMac running 10.6.8. I only use this machine for iTunes to sync music to my various iPods.

I noticed yesterday that when I click on Purchased, it gives me an error saying I don't have permission to access this.

I may need to replace the trusty old beast finally, but I like this computer, and it works exceptionally well for the task I have it doing. (and Snow Leopard is absolutely rock solid.) I know it can run Lion.

I like these machines because they have built-in optical drives, and I don't have to connect to a USB drive.

Thanks,

iMac

It is a case of retired security protocols. Snow Leopard cannot make a secure connection to the iTunes Store. Pretty sure you need El Capitan or better to do anything useful but if you've got to get up to date you should probably go the whole hog.
