Does your watch auto connect to wifi ?

A2352 Apple Watch 4th gen.

My Apple watch does not auto connect to my wifi. My wife’s watch doesn’t either.

I click the settings and green tap auto join, but it doesn’t.

stays connected until I leave the house and have to manually connect it again when I come back.

Was the same with my 2nd gen watch before. Never minded it much as I just keep my iPhone close.

but I figured I would ask around to see if it has an easy fix.

Hello Rickphone,

It sounds like you aren't able to connect your Apple Watch to Wi-Fi even after checking the auto join. Take a look at this article on connecting to Wi-Fi:

Connect your Apple Watch to Wi-Fi - Apple Support

"Choose a Wi-Fi network

  1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi. Your device automatically searches for networks.
  3. Tap the name of the network that you want to join. If you have Apple Watch Series 6, you can connect to 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Apple Watch Series 5 and earlier, and Apple Watch SE, can connect only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  4. If asked, enter the password using Scribble or the Apple Watch keyboard.
  5. Tap Join."

If you are still unable to connect, contact Apple Support.

Regards.

Hey!

yeah. I had read that.

I can connect. But cannot autocorrect apparently. My wife’s watch doesn’t either. Neither did my old watch.

had 3 wifi routers over the years. None of them have any issues accept with the apple watch. But they do connect wonderfully when manually connecting.

My watch is almost 2 years old. Wonder if apple support will assist me on this.

am wondering if this is a thing for more people or we’re ‘just unlucky’ here.
