Parent approval of apps on child's ipad.

How do I approve apps for my child's ipad, 9th gen, if I the parent only have an Apple ID? I don't own any Apple device. I only use PC and Android. I registered for icloud.com online as well, but have no idea how to approve apps.

Its very simple with Google Family Link but am lost in Apple environment. Thanks.

Hi darran128,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! You can prevent purchases and downloads from the App Store on your child's iPad using Screen Time. Follow these steps to set the restriction:

  1. "Go to Settings and tap Screen Time.
  2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If asked, enter your passcode.
  3. Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases.
  4. Choose a setting and set to Don't Allow."

Find these steps and additional information about using controls in Screen Time here: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Cheers!
