Chrome adding itself to login items.

Thank you for listing the correct answer/fix. I performed your recommendations and found that the "vidIQ Vision for YouTube" extension (ver 3.81.2.1) was the culprit for me. I removed this extension and have had no more problems.

I have removed every extension in chrome, removed the 2 google files in Launchagents under my home library and it keeps coming back. This is clearly not an extension issue. That or there are multiple issues that are causing this and some are getting lucky and some are not. My default browser is and always has been Safari, only reason I have Chrome is because of my work in IT at a University where I have to be able to test and troubleshoot items in Chrome. But I get the stupid Google Updater message multiple times a day even if Chrome isn't open.

I stumbled across this after noticing that MS SharePoint and OneDrive were continuously adding themselves to login items. It seems like Apple should allow us to manage what items are added there. I shouldn't get a notification that an app has added itself, I should get a notification that an app WANTS to add itself.

Same here. I have checked Chrome settings and unless Google are doing something sneaky, there is nothing more to uncheck. Ive done the settings thing too many times and the problem persists. PITA.

I wish I could remember LOL. I believe it was an ad blocker (I had two of them running unknowingly).
