Your phone has a feature that hides your Wi-Fi address when you connect to a Wi-Fi network; it does this so you can’t be tracked from one location to another via Wi-Fi networks. If you turn off this feature by going to Settings/Wi-Fi and tapping the i next to the network name for a specific network you will get that warning. If it is your home network it’s not a problem, as its OK that your home network knows where your phone is.
If you don’t want to see the warning just turn on “Private Wi-Fi address” for that network.

Where do you see Privacy Warning? In Settings/Wi-Fi? And did you disconnect and reconnect after changing it?
The other place you might see Privacy Warning is when logging in to an app or a site. This means that the password you used has been found on a list of passwords reported in a security breach of a site where that password was used.
Well, the parameters of a Wi-Fi connection are established when you first connect, and they won’t change until you disconnect, then reconnect. You could probably have done this by connecting to a different network, then back to this one so it would forget the last settings.
The next step is to “forget” the account, then add it back.
Does it specifically use the words “privacy warning”, or does it say “Weak Security”?
Thanks for the reply
it still shows this with private Wi-Fi turned on at my own home network
the privacy warning is in the settings for Wi-Fi connection to my home hub
I toggled the private Wi-Fi setting to off, then back on again
Also toggle Wi-Fi off, then on again.
No change
Ok I’ll try that
it says “privacy warning”
thank you
That seems to have sorted it out
thank you again for your advice
btw, what would have been the cause of this?
Ok, I understand
thank you for your help and advice
