Follow Up feature auto-sent email without permission?

I sent an email on 11/3. Today, 11/6, I woke up to my see my email in the top of my receiving Inbox with no reply still (very odd), but now with a banner saying I sent the same email again? I did nothing to initiate it. This is relating to a new job I'm applying to, so I'm hoping it better not have. When I turn "Follow Up Suggestions" off in Mail settings the second follow up email disappears from my Inbox and Sent mailboxes and appears again when turning the setting on. What is going on?

Hello tbabyfresh,

To help troubleshoot, ensure your iPhone is updated, as updating can help clear up software issues: Update your iPhone or iPad

"Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install."

Reach out to Apple Support directly for assistance with the unexpected behavior if the issue persists. You can use the following link to reach out: Contact Apple Support
