My iPhone since updating to iOS 16.1 has changed the charging animation when locked from it saying e.g 12% charging below the battery icon to the top was wondering if this is a glitch or apart of the update?

It appears that your device isn't charging at all currently. Are you plugged into a power adapter powerful enough for your iPhone? Have you tried a different USB cable? Here's a resource with some good troubleshooting If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge. However, if it seems your device is charging and the information displayed in the screenshot isn't correct you may want to try restarting your iPhone.
