Slow Internet MacBook Pro

I recently bought a 15" 2.4 Ghz core i5 macbook pro. Maybe it happened at first, but now I've really started to notice that the internet is running really slow. Everyone else at my house runs on the same network with download speeds of about 8 mbps, but mine manages only around 300 kbps, on a good day. I tried changing the dns settings, using a different browser, restarting, plugging in to the other ethernet cables (in case maybe mine was bad), but nothing works. Anyone know what to do?

I've had the exact same problem, and this will sound dumb, but give it a try. Go to system preferences > Network.. And then click the plus button to create a new connection. Just do another airport connection (in addition to the one that's already there) and bam. It should work. Don't need to connect to the new connection... It just has to exist. I found out this solution elsewhere online and it's worked for many.. Hope it works for you too! 🙂
