Change the double-tap action on AirPods

I'd like to change the double-tap action on my AirPods (as described in the article Change the settings of your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support) but the option Noice control option does not appear on the iphone screen. Any hint?

Hi uzvilo,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! Since the option is not appearing as it should on your iPhone, try restarting it. Restarting can fix many issues:

"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

How to restart your iPhone 6, 7, 8, or SE (2nd or 3rd generation)

  1. Press and hold the side button until the power-off slider appears.

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo."

-Restart your iPhone

Should the behavior continue after restarting, ensure your paired iPhone is updated to the latest version.

Hey uzvilo,

Let's get a little more information to help narrow this down. You mentioned the option "Noice control" does not appear, where are you looking for this? Which iPhone are you using and which iOS version is it using?

If you take a look at the article you mentioned Change the settings of your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support, are you able to follow these steps?

  1. "Open your charging case.
  2. With your AirPods in your ears and connected to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > Bluetooth. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > AirPods.
  3. Tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods.
  4. Select the left or right AirPod to choose which AirPod you'd like to double-tap for Siri, playing or pausing audio content, or skipping between tracks."
