Importing and synchronizing suddenly not working

i have never had this problem. Suddenly FCPX takes hours to import files and will also not sync clips as I have done before. I have tried to reset computer. Uninstall and reinstall app. Create new libraries in multiple external hard drives. Delete preferences. Any other ideas? Help!

You have Chrome and its evil keystone daemons.

They kill video applications by hogging the system videotoolbox.

See https://chromeisbad.com an explanation of what they do and how to completely remove them.

After that, delete FCP and download a fresh copy.

Also: you have the WD software. Third party drive vendor software is not needed and can cause issues. Your mac is perfectly capable of handing your external drive without additional software.
