Speedtest by Ookla not working on my Mac only

When I run the Speedtest app by Ookla or CLI it gives me the error “Could not connect to the internet” even after establishing connections to servers. I am clearly connected to the internet as I loaded YouTube just to make sure and this problem seems to be affecting only this Mac. I saw somewhere that this was a result of privacy/content settings, but I removed all privacy content restrictions by disabling screen time and still get the same error.

Hey Review1-2-3,

It's possible that some form of privacy or security feature could still be at play. Do you happen to use any sort of VPN or specialty network or security software, up to and including antivirus software? All of these could potentially be blocking or restricting access to specific ports necessary to completing this task. Also, have you tried using a private window within Safari? If not, review Browse privately in Safari on Mac as it contains ways to enable this function permanently or for just a single session, and it'll be a good way of testing the issue overall.

If you have any special configurations on the Wi-Fi router itself, those could be getting in the way or conflicting with settings on the Mac as well so make sure that isn't the case as well. Also, just to be clear, every other site is working as expected correct? The only issue you're having at all on your Mac is when you visit this one website? Just asking for clarification purposes.

Take care.
