How ro remove windows when I just reinstalled Mac OS

I just receive a 2015 macbook air from my sister. I reinstalled the mac OS (High Sierra)

I noticed there’s a bootcamp partition when reinstalling, I don’t do anything to the bootcamp partition. I thought I could remove it after reinstalling the Mac OS.

Now when I try to remove the windows and bootcamp partition from the Boot Camp Assistant, I receive this notification:

“The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.

The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows”

How do I remove the Windows and bootcamp partition?

PS: I’m new to the Mac OS. I previously only have Windows OS

If Boot Camp Assistant can't remove the partition, you'll need to do a full disk wipe to remove them all, then reinstall macOS. Do not use Disk Utility to remove only the Windows partition, as it won't give the space back.

  1. Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support
  2. Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac - Apple Support
  3. Restore your Mac from a backup - Apple Support
