encapsulated postscript files don't show in Ventura

Since neXt (in ~1990) and all versions of the following MAC OS systems I have written .eps file with textedit.app and displayed them with Preview.app. Wonderful. Convenient. Quick. I have thousands of files of illustrations that I need to access. In Ventura, Preview.App no longer decodes .eps files that I have written.

Please help. Is there a solution? A life time of work has been destroyed. I need to be able to display these files.

Here is a simple file example that used to display when double clicked but no longer under Ventura:

file: Example.eps

%!PS-Adobe-2.0 EPSF-1.2

%%Creator:ENGH

%%Title:NewView

%%BoundingBox: 0 0 260 260

While Preview has dropped support for eps files, the free applications that use PDFKit can still open them as before.

Try Skim or TeXShop, both long term mac applications. They work fine.
