Should i always use the new cord for an Apple TV , Could one off the old Apple TV be compromised after years of use ?

It's recommended yes. However, the power cable type for Apple TVs has not changed in many years, so if your old cable still works you can use that just fine if you want to avoid having to dig behind your TV to route the new power cable.


Like with all cables and electronic equipment they can age and fail. Should this happen with an older one, you can simply replace it with a new one.
