Magic keyboard keeps changing to Greek alphabet

Using iPad Pro 12.9 inch with magic keyboard, randomly starts typing in the Greek alphabet despite no Greek keyboard added. Have tried going into keyboard, removing English and re adding it but still keeps happening. Only goes back to English when I take the iPad off the keyboard entirely and put it back. Any solutions would be appreciated. Thanks.

iPad Pro, 12.9-inch, 6th Gen, Wi-Fi

I'm certainly not sure either. I have not encountered anyone else with your problem.

It's hard to imagine what would cause it other than a greek keyboard being accidentally activated (e.g. by hitting Fn/Globe, Capslock, or Control Space) or a "bible" greek font being accidentally being used for display. If Greek texts turn into English, that argues it's a font (real Greek created by a keyboard could not do that). Getting a "bible" greek font on your device would normally have to be done via a Profile.

It is odd. The problem just happened again, i fixed it by disconnecting my ipad from the keyboard and reconnecting

αααααααβββββββψψψψψψψψδδδδδδδδδδδ (Copying and pasting it from search it stays as Greek lettering).

I will also attach a screenshot of when it just happened, just for the sake of clarity as I’m not sure it will be of much use to you. Thank you for your help though, i feel like it could be the magic keyboard itself causing the issue but i just don't know, thank you for taking the time to help me though.

It's Greek letters, but English text, the last two lines say "brilliant for gods sake". It looks like what happens when you have junk greek font of the old type sometimes still used for Bible studies on your device. Have you added anytiing like that to your ipad?

Can you copy/paste what you have like that in that app (Message I assume?) here in the forum? I want to see if it turns to Latin or stays Greek.

Does this ever happen in other apps like Mail, Safari, Notes, Pages?

Do you have Profiles listed under settings > general > VPN and Device Management?

It just randomly types in Greek lettering, it goes back to regular lettering if i refresh the page or disconnect the magic keyboard and reconnect, to be clear this is not constant, usually it is English as normal, if it does it again i will try and copy and paste it in. It has happened in: Notability, Safari and Messages thus far. The only thing i have listed under VPN and Device Management is my schools system, but I’ve never had this issue with previous devices connected with the school so I do not think thus has anything to do with it.4

If you have a Profile from your school, I would still definitely ask them about this. Profiles are how odd fonts could get installed on your device.

It staying greek like that would indicate that somehow your ipad is switching keyboard layouts (the hardware keyboard cannot do that on its own).

See if you can make the ipad switch to Greek by pressing Fn/Globe, or Control Space, or Capslock.

Do you have any 3rd party keyboards installed (gboard, etc). If so, remove them.

I cannot get it to switch to Greek using any keys, the globe just automatically takes me to the emoji search screen.

I’ve realised that it will switch back to English if I start typing in another app. For instance, if it starts typing Greek lettering in notes, if i open safari and start typing there it will switch to English.

That might be slightly problematic as I usually use English (UK), but I will try it for a while to see if it makes a difference. Also something I have noticed is that it doesn’t seem to occur in the middle of typing, it is only when i open up an app or start typing, i.e it wont just switch whilst I’m in the middle of typing, instead I will open up safari or notes and it will immediately start typing in Greek.
