Iphone XS, rear camera shows black screen after upgrading to ios 16

Hi, a month ago my iphone XS rear camera suddenly stopped working, after upgrading the software to ios 16. After a few days I decided to make a full reset and the camera came back on, but it stopped working again in a few days. I tried making a full reset again, but it didn't work. I thought it was a problem only with ios 16, but every upgrade I installed was useless. My front camera works just fine, only the rear camera and the flashlight don't work and my phone has never fallen on the ground. I tried to contact an Apple technician and he told me that it's very likely that it's a hardware problem. Can you tell me what should I do? Thank you really much.

Hey there tommaso90,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. If having issues with the camera and flash on your iPhone not working, we would recommend working through the steps in the following resource that can help with troubleshooting this specific issue: If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working - Apple Support

Remove case, accessory, or film and test
1. Remove any case, accessory, or film that might block the camera or flash or that places a magnet near the camera.
2. Test the camera by trying to take a photo.
3. Test the LED flash:
1. Try the flashlight in Control Center on your iPhone or Control Center on your iPad. On an iPhone X or later or an iPad, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen.
2. Tap the Flashlight button Flashlight icon.
If the flash works only sometimes, open the Camera app and tap the flash button   to choose a different setting.

If you want to try more steps on your own
If you prefer, here are some more steps you can try on your own if the camera isn't working. You might still need to contact Apple Support after following these steps.
1. If the photo is blurry, clean the front and back camera lenses with a microfiber cloth. If you see dirt or debris inside the lens or if the camera lens appears to be misaligned or blocked, contact Apple Support to discuss service options.
2. Restart your iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch
3. Test the camera again by taking a photo. If your device has a front and rear camera, check if one or both isn’t working. To switch cameras, tap the rotate button .

If the issue persists after going through the steps above, then it is possible that the issue may be hardware related. If that's the case, the best option would be to look into having your iPhone inspected further in person. For help with finding nearby service locations, check out this link here: Find Locations - Apple

You can also reach out to Apple directly to discuss possible service options by using the 'contact Apple Support to discuss service options' link above in step 1 under the "If you want to try more steps on your own" section.

We hope that's able to help.

Best regards
