Not able to sign in to iTunes

I can't sign in to iTunes on Win 10 PC. Account details work fine on 3 iPads and web browsers, just not iTunes.

Error says "This action could not be completed. Please try again."

Try fictitious details & the expected errors are generated (incorrect user /pwd).

Have uninstalled itunes. No difference

Try to update iTunes to the latest version of iTunes:

Update to the latest version of iTunes for Windows 10 – Apple Support (UK)


Check also -> Check your third-party security software.

OK then...

Tried with original config (Avira AV, latest iTunes, fresh install) = no joy

Tried with no AV (!!) just Windows Defender. = no joy

Installed Bitdefender. = no joy.

Gave up.

Tried a while after installing Bitdefender & I can now sign in!

No idea why. Have not been able to sign in for months. Can only assume it is something to do with the AV, so thanks for the idea ;-)
