Black screen during a call,

I know the feature that turns off the screen in a call when it’s up to your ear, but I called someone and it went to voicemail and attempted to hang up, the screen wouldn’t come back on. So I thought power cycling it would work. Pressing the volume up and side buttons didn’t work, so I used my iPad to call myself on discord. I heard the incoming call (end and accept/hold decline) but couldn’t touch the screen to do any of that. Tried a second time and it fixed, but this issue should not have started in the first place and I want to know why, or if it’ll be fixed.

specs: 11 pro max, latest firmware, screen dimming on call was on, before the call I turned off show my caller ID, minor things that might be related do not disturb on power saver off.

Hey there,

if it happened again to you Force restart your iPhone:

Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the side button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
