Auto date for Numbers?

Hi! I'm currently working on a table for personal finance and I need a cell to be automatically filled with the current date, as I may enter every day, so that I don't have to do it myself each time. How can I do this? I am currently on version 12.2.

Date entry can't be fully "automatic."

But you can quickly date stamp a cell by clicking it once and choosing Table > Insert Current Date from the menu, or typing its keyboard shortcut: control-shift-command-d.
