I have a brand new MacBook Air (13-inch, 2022, M2) running macOS 12.6.1 (21G217).
It was purchased in Spain and came with a Spanish keyboard.
I cannot figure out how to type the ampersand symbol which is on the same key as 2 and " symbol.
The @ symbol is probably used more than many other symbols on the keyboard, so why is this so difficult?
Please help!

Whenever you see 3 characters on a key, the 3rd one is made using the option/alt key.
If by chance you are using the Latin American input source for Spanish, @ in on option Q
