How do I disable iCloud on my apps

so Awhile ago I was running out of space on my iPad, so I went into setting and there was an option so that if you don’t use an app for a few days, it will put it in iCloud and by the app title it will put an iCloud symbol by it. It said you can disable it in App Store, but I CANT FIND IT! So when I go camping and stuff, and I don’t have internet, I would just play my “offline games,” games that don’t take internet to play. But I want to play one but I can’t play it because ITS IN ICLOUD!

and I don’t have internet to download it back, so I want to know is how do disable application iCloud backups on my iPad 8th gen.

its sooo annoying!

Settings -> App Store -> turn OFF “offload unused apps”

And note they are not in iCloud, they are available for download again from the App Store. No App’s installer is ever stored in anyone’s iCloud space. The little cloud icon just means it’s in the App Store for download (the App Store, being a virtual online store, live “in the cloud” but that has nothing to do with iCloud which is Apple’s service for online storage available to device users for their personal data).
