Why are the MacBook screws not in the midpoint?

The slots of the screws holding the bottom case on the macbook are not centered. When we think that they do this with the machine, what could be the reason for this situation?

Hi, i'm an obsessive person and since this situation intrigued me, i've always wondered why a company like apple made such a design mistake. I don't think there are many people obsessed with this but I'm sure there are some people like me.

As you can see the screw is aligned towards the top left.

This screw is in a better position but still not centered.

Those are likely to be tiny machine BOLTS [i.e., not tapered], that go into a threaded brass fitting on the adjacent component.

Variability in parts and tolerances means that sometimes, things don't quite line up in the center. Like every manufacturer, Apple has a standard for how far off they can be to still be functional, and if they exceed that standard, the parts are supposed to be re-worked.

I don't personally have one, but I have worked on a couple of them and the older laptops and once in a while a screw doesn't go in correctly and I have to reseat it. As long as the screw head is not above the metal where it can get caught on something, then it is not a problem and just ignore it.

If the screw head is above the recessed opening so that the case there is not "smooth" and you catch your finger on the screw, or you think there is a problem, then have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to adjust the bottom case & screw.

Sometimes things just don't go as planned during manufacturing and things can get a little off. As long as the screw head is flush with the case (or below), then it is just cosmetic. If the screw juts out above the recess opening, then have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider reinstall the screw since the screw may scratch the table top or catch on your clothing or the material of a laptop bag. They may need to remove the entire Bottom Case.
