Battery won’t charge no green icon, used working apple chargers and cords, hard reboot, ipad using ipad OS 16.11.

No luck, no change. Wondering if I have a dying battery that doesn’t allow a charge
After 4 hours on the charger magically the green charging light came on! What’s with that?
