I try to install XCODE. but get a message that there is not enough space on my MacBook Air computer.

I did install XCODE a month ago on the same computer. I keep all files on ICloud storage and gust about 100KB on my local disk. What is the problem?

Thanks everybody.

Could you explain your confusion over the messages shown? ~15 GB is not going to fit in a ~half GB free.

Your Mac is stuffed full.

Stuffed way too full.

You could potentially delete the existing Xcode first to free some space. (Whether you can then re-install, though?)

Xcode storage requirements can also tend a little optimistic, given add-on simulator usage, and given the room needed just to unpack the download, too.

The command line tools will require less storage, though no IDE that way.

After deleting Xcode, empty your trash, remove any add-on simulators, and reboot through Safe Mode, and try again.

Your current Mac storage is woefully inadequate for your current needs. Much less for your likely future needs. If you can get Xcode (re)installed, this configuration is marginal for development. You're either going to need to relocate a whole lot more of the current contents away, or acquire a newer or new Mac with storage commensurate for your usage.

The product name is "Xcode", not "XCODE" nor "XCode".

Hello, Mr Hoffman!

Thanks a lot for your attention.

You are saying:

Could you explain your confusion over the messages shown?  ~15 GB is not going to fit in a ~half GB free.

Your Mac is stuffed full.  Stuffed way too full.

My question:

      You are absolutely right.

But as i posted in original message, just a month ago the XCODE was installed on my

computer and I code reinstall XCODE from Apple store without problems.

Why do I need so much storage now?

I have tried your advice, but it did not help. I have uninstalled the XCODE and tried to reinstall it again, but it did not help. there still is the same message about not enough space
