Little blue light, at top of screen

When outside, the little blue light appears top of screen and screen dims. What is this light and why is screen dimming??

Hello Mgibb223,

You mentioned seeing a blue light at the top of the screen, then the screen dims when you're outside. The brightness may change depending on the lighting conditions, when set automatically: Adjust the brightness and color temperature on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
