Trouble cutting and pasting objects from photos

Hi everyone! Got my brand new iPad Pro 11 inches, already updated to ios16, but unfortunately the feature I wanted the most doesn’t work as smoothly. Talking about dragging objects from photos and pasting in other apps without background. It works, but super patchy - copying objects one minute and the just stops (same photo same app, but doesn’t paste the picture anymore). Any idea what’s wrong and how to fix it? Tried copying from photos app to goodnotes, procreate, fresco - same result, so frustrating…

Hi ayna18,

For help with  isolate the subject of a photo from the photo background, test the steps below found in the article here:

  1. "Open a photo.
  2. Touch and briefly hold the subject of the photo. When it’s outlined, do one of the following:
    • Tap Copy, then paste the subject into an email, text message, or note.
    • Tap Share, then choose a sharing option, such as Airdrop, Messages, or Mail.
    • Drag it into an email, text message, or note."

You'll want to ensure your iPadOS is fully updated with the steps here: Update your iPhone or iPad
