AirPods Pro 1st gen audio drift issues

So i know its a software/firmware issue because i got a replacment and the firmware didnt update to latest and there was no issues but as soon as it updated i got the drifting issues again. With me when i pause a song and play it again it drifts to the right side and i cant manually shift it back because it doesent sound balanced so i would have tot urn off Bluetuth and turn it back on and that would fix it until i have to pause it again. and repeat.

I have found a workaround that seems to work on my mac. I disabled the "spatial tracking follows iphone" and "spatial tracking follows head movements" found in the audio section of accessibility options on both devices.

This unfortunately removes the spatial audio option to track movements, but I don't mind since I don't use it.

However, I cannot get it to work consistently with one application, that is telegram (installed via app store) with sent message sound effects. This seems to be the main application (in my case) that triggers the audio drift even though spatial audio is not enabled. Disabling sent message sound effects on telegram (in addition to the above) has resulted in consistent audio for me.

They released new AirPods firmware 5E135. Any changes?

It happens to me frequently, I'm using Android 12 + iPadOS 16 + macOS Ventura 13.0.1, the temporary solution is to go to the playing panel and switch from the AirPods to the speakers and then back to the AirPods or click on the drifting AirPods and wait for a second.

Had the issue ever since the firmware update. It happens less if you reset the AirPods and turn off “automatic ear detection”. At least it helps a bit for me.

right now the only way to fix it is to turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on. If we keep complaining about this issue and make it a big thing we can probably get a software update to fix it

I think iOS 16.1.2 fixed the issue

6A300 firmware came out. Any changes?

This seems to be an issue that started for many after the latest update, which was released to fix this issue. How its possible to cause the bug that a patch is supposed to fix i dont understand.

This is happenning on my Pro2s and sounds like spatial audio is on and randomly decided to shift the sound around my head.

Apple; this needs fixing asap. no bs. please.

Same issue. Sound drifts from ear to ear for no reason. I tried with other phones and windows pc. I took it to Apple Store and they cannot find anything wrong with the hardware. It’s definitely a software issue. I wish Apple would patch it!

I’ve tried to sent it in for repair and they said they fixed it. Now I’m waiting for them to check if they really fixed the problem or not. Cuz my dad has the same AirPods and he’s saying he doesn’t have any problems

samee, mine started to drift after the firmware update ! and i gotta disconnect and reconnect them .

Cuz I did a reset on them again and no issues for now on the new firmware. Maybe it’ll comeback but hopefully not

I tried sending my AirPods Pro for repair on this issue and they always come back saying that it is fixed and they find nothing wrong with it...

Is there a way to fix this permanently without waiting for Apple to release a software update?

Same here. I was really hoping that a new firmware would fix this. It’s very annoying that it keeps happening. The only solution I’ve found is to never pause the audio that is playing unless absolutely necessary.

Hopefully the next update fixes it.
