I'm running OSX 13.0 Ventura. When I try to disconnect my EGPU it will not allow me. I get an error that says "The following apps are still using the eGPU. They should quit before the GPU can be safely disconnected."

I have to go to my activity monitor app and end the process of medianalysisd.
Thoughts?

Photos is using the eGPU to index all of the photos, finding faces, animals, trees, visual lookup items, etc.
It should eventually stop once it processes ever photo.
It doesn't. It's a constant problem. Even when I go to Activity Monitor and end the process.
It's going to continue analyzing the photos until it finishes which could be a long time depending on the number of photos. It could also be stuck on something that is preventing it from finishing. Ending the process just delays it as it has to restart the process and catch up to where it was when you killed it.

I'm going to try to uncheck 'Photos' from 'Prefer External GPU' option in finder, reboot and see what happens.

That did not work, either. I don't have many photos, nor have I used it for weeks. The indexing should be lite and long done.
eGPU will not disconnect because the process 'medianalysisd' is using it.
