Full sync picture and movie over iCloud app for Windows

Good day,

It is possible to fully synchronize photos and videos to a Windows PC via the iCloud application. Only previews are always synced. If I want to play a video that is several GB, I have to wait a few minutes for the whole thing to download.

Is there any solution?

Synchronization tools from other companies (Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive) have the option of turning on full file synchronization.

Thank you

Windows, Windows 10

Hello JanZimacek,

Thanks for reaching out to us in Apple Support Communities about how to get your photos to download on your PC. We're happy to help by looking into this more!

On Windows 11.1 and later you will see optimized versions of your photos and videos.

In iCloud for Windows 11.1 and later, optimized versions of all photos and videos automatically download to your PC once you enable iCloud Photos. Open the photo or video to download the full version.
