How can I get my library in photos to be the source of where the wallpaper in Ventura looks. Now the 2 options are “add folder” and “add photo album”. None allows you to choose the entire photo library, only some albums and people. I have a iMac.
I'll be interested to see the other replies here as I have the same issue.
but, in the mean time, I use the photos app to set my wallpaper. you open "photos", then just click on a picture to select it, and use the "share" menu and choose "Set Wallpaper".
I just tried that. while safe booted, still no choice to "Add Photo Album", and when I click on "Add Folder", no matter how I try to navigate to "Photos", it is still greyed out. no change after restarting normally either.
I agree that it's strange, but I'm not going to lose sleep over this because I'm still able to use the photos app itself to change my wallpaper. :)

Actually it was loading in all my photos(+14,000) so it took a while but all is ok. There never was a problem I just did not understand the process.
You might want to try the old standby, booting into Safe Mode then restarting normally.
Do you not have "Photos" listed?

You didn't move the Photos Library to an external drive by any chance?
no. it's one of the few things I keep on my local drive.
Strange. As it turned out, one of my Ventura installs did not have Photos listed. But it did have the Add Photo Album button so I just added it.
