Messenger stopped working on my iPad 9 th generation

My messenger won’t open on my iPad my iPhone still works. I have off loaded the app and reinstalled turned my iPad off then back on. All the app does is spin ,does anyone have a solution?

There are many reports of issues with Messenger. Many users also report that deleting both the FaceBook and Messenger Apps from the iPad, prior to restarting and reinstalling the Apps, will successfully resolve the problem. Perhaps this will also work for you - but note that the workaround is very specific in both actions and sequence.


Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Force restart iPad - Apple Support



After deleting both Apps and restarting the iPad, install and launch Messenger App first - and then reinstall the FaceBook App:

I’m having the exact same issue. I’ve completed all the user support actions. Reinstalled, updated iOS, rebooted iPad, offloaded app. Nothing works. The app when opens just spins. This is the only app that will not work on my new iPad 9th generation. It’s extremely frustrating because there is really no one to physically reach out to, to try and solve the issue. Terrible customer service.
