I lost my AirPods what can I do to get them back

I lost my AirPods I went to the find my AirPods and it isn’t very helpful what else could I do to get them back/find them

Post notices around where you lost the AirPods, contact the police, or if applicable, the Lost & Found department of the facility involved.
