I'm trying to erase data on my Iphone to reset to factory settings but it's displaying IPhone Unavailable and Emergency and nothing else. And I'm stuck. How do I work around it?

Well, if it’s showing unavailable it has already been erased. To restore to factory settings follow these instructions→Restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support. It doesn’t require the phone to be unlocked or working.
