Moving windows in Finder

I've got a Mac Studio running 12.5 and I've noticed something when I move windows on the desktop. When I click on the top of a window and then start to move it, a three-paneled "thing" appears - it seems to control the position of the window depending on where it's "selected"

Sorry I don't know what this thing is called, but how do I get rid of it or at least disable it?

I've figured out the culprit - there is something called "Window Snap" in the Dell Display Manager software that came with my monitor. I just had to go in and uncheck that box and that's the end of that! Thanks all for the help; as finding out that this thing wasn't part of MacOS really narrowed things down.

I can't see what that panel may be.

Could you post a screenshot of that?

Try pressing command-shift-3 when you are dragging.

Or if that does not work, press Command-Shift-5 to open the Screenshot application, choose a delay of 5 seconds, click the screenshot button, and then start dragging.
