Delete archived texts and emails

Hi janna107,

We would love to help you delete your texts and emails from the Message and Mail apps on your iPhone. Let's start with Messages! When you delete a message from the Messages app in iOS 15, it is deleted and not archived, so deleting it will not store it anywhere to be recovered. To delete Messages in the Messages app, just do the following.

"Delete a message

1. Touch and hold a message bubble, then tap More.
2. Select the message bubbles you want to delete, then tap the trash icon."

"Delete a conversation

1. In the Messages list, swipe left on the conversation.
2. Tap Delete."

To delete email messages from Mail in iOS 15, follow the below steps.

1. Go to your Archived mailbox
2. While viewing a list of emails, tap Edit on the top right
3. Select the emails you want to delete
4. Tap Trash.
