How to resolve touch sensitivity issues with iPad (we have the Pro 12.9 2nd gen) that is in an OtterBox defender case.

iPad Air (5th gen) -very poor Touch ID recognition with upper button. The Touch ID sensitivity on my new iPad Air Gen 5, is very poor, compared with other Apple devices, iPhone, older iPad, various Macs. It works less than 50% of the time and then only after multiple touches. I have reset my finger recognition twice now with zero improvement and done a system reset as well, again as usual, with zero improvement. It does not help that the top edge of my Apple Folio Cover, sits slightly proud of the top edge of the iPad, presumably (and sensibly) to protect the metal rim of the pad from damage. I just hope that an OS or firmware update will improve this in due course, as currently it is spoiling the otherwise good experience with my new iPad.

Presumably the OtterBox Defender case has a built-in screen protector? There is nothing that you can do to alter the sensitivity of your iPad’s touch screen. If the iPad screen works as expected if the case [with screen protector] is removed, you will have demonstrated that the case is not suitable for your iPad.
