I'm on an iMac running Catalina 10. 15. 7.
Looking at System Preferences > Keyboard it tells me that the bluetooth keyboard batteries are at 100%.
But those batteries have been in for at least three months or longer, so there’s no way that figure is accurate - based on previous experience it should be around 70%.
The reading has always been accurate before, so something has happened recently.
Any suggestions how to fix this and get a correct battery reading ?

If the battery level of your wireless keyboard is not showing correctly on your iMac, are you able to connect this keyboard to another device to see if it shows the same battery level? This will help isolate if this issue is caused by the keyboard or by the iMac it is connected to.
If the battery level shows as expected on another device, then updating the macOS of your iMac would be the next best step. This installs improved features and bug fixes that can resolve behavior like this. These steps from Update macOS on Mac show how:
1. From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen:
• Choose System Settings. Then click General in the sidebar, and Software Update on the right.
• Or choose System Preferences. Then click Software Update.
2. If Software Update finds new software, click the Update Now or Upgrade Now button to install it.
3. Enter your administrator password, if asked. During installation, your Mac might restart, and you might see a progress bar or blank screen several times.
If Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, then no new software is currently available for your Mac model. Software Update shows only updates and upgrades that are compatible with your Mac.

A long shot: power-cycle the keyboard, leaving it off for about five minutes.
Software is up to date, at 10.15.7.
It's one of those earlier iMacs which won't go beyond Catalina.
I'll try the keyboard on another Mac when I can get round to it.
