I'm actually having problems using ALL the Themes that come with iDVD.
Not ALL of them are listed under ALL.
For instance. If I wish to use the Revolution theme which is in my Library > Application Support > Themes Folder... it DOES NOT show up in iDVD itself so I cannot use it.
Does anyone know how to rectify this so I can use ALL the iDVD Themes that are built into my iMac.
Londonman, you should post a new question.
As for free iDVD themes, there are not 150 free themes. The only reference I could find online was on Wikipedia, which allows anyone to make changes, (like me) and message boards with people talking about 150 free themes, several of which cite Wikipedia as a source.
I fixed the Wikipedia reference, it now states there are "many."
The themes are quite customizable; you can drag and drop pictures to replace backgrounds, change fonts, insert text, change music, all sorts of things. Look at the bare bones of a theme: how do the drop zones move, and what kind of special effects are built in. Just about everything else can be changed. That will give you infinite themes.
Hope this helps!
I did not find that until you posted the link.
I went back and counted the themes. There are exactly 100. Then I went back and roughly recounted the themes with two or three expressions, and that count is probably exactly 50.
It really is misleading. Different expressions of a theme aren't really individual themes, now are they?
I'll fix my edit in wikipedia.
I've not heard of free themes other than what Apple provides, or that the user customizes (drag in your own background image). It is possible, but difficult (for me), to create "free" themes.
Here's what Apple says: "+Choose from more than 150 Apple-designed themes in widescreen and standard format+..." Those could be the "free" themes, but they come with iDVD. Apple doesn't use "free" on this web page.
You could call Apple, but I'm guessing 1 widescreen + 1 standard = 2 themes.
