control option command

When you are in an app and hold down control+option+command and click the desktop, all windows hide. How can you disable or change this?

Have just attempted the " control+option+command and click the desktop " and can not duplicate the purported results on this computer.

May it be suggested the user reads from the supplied link below to review changing existing Keyboard Shortcut that may have been created and need to be modified

I cannot say if there is a way to disable or change this, but I can offer a quick fix for the case where you accidentally fall into this situation.

If you add a keyboard shortcut to Show All - say, Command-Control-Option-A,

then you already have your hand on the modifiers, and just press A and you're back where you started.

It seems to be a good workaround.

All that is needed is to go to System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts->App Shortcuts,

add a new one, choose "Finder" as the application, type "Show All" (without the quotes), click the well for the shortcut and press it.

You don't even need to restart the Finder, it should be immediately available:

As a designer, those key are used in combination for may shortcuts. And if you accidentally click outside the active window on to the desktop, all windows even the one you have active are hidden. Therefore, it would be nice to disable or change the global setting.

Then, you can only unhide all apps either by clicking on each icon in the dock or going to the Finder > Show All. But, not in the dock, only the menu bar. If you right click on the Finder in the dock > Show All Windows that will only show you the Finder windows.

I'll just add, that I spent 45 minutes with Apple support and they are unable to address this question.

I'm not looking for some hokum work around. It shouldn't be this hard to adjust a keyboard command.

Although the above was not directed to my earlier reply but was active in this issue.

Between the 45 Minutes with Apple Support, the time on these Forums and work the User ( owner ) of this computer has done and not one or series of entities has been able to Sort this Out to the liking of the user - perhaps a Physical Visit to an Apple Store nearest your location is in order ?

With the Computer in hand and illustrated to the Geek Person on Staff would prove more fruitful in the long run.

Perhaps, rather than chiming in on all the questions to get "points" you should only answer the ones you actually have an answer for.

Almost all points are given by the original poster. So, if you don't want Luis Sequeira1 to get points, dont give them any. Everyone here is voluteering their time to help. If you don't like the answer, and can't manage to say thank you, you can just ignore it. What you don't get to do is dictate how people chose to answer (as long as they stay with in the terms of use)
