HomePods requiring my password regularly

This is so annoying - I have two sets of HomePods one set of large ones and one set of small ones. It seems that at least a couple of times a week I have to sign in through the home app. Why is this? I literally never have to sign in to my Alexa devices. So ridiculous. It may be something to do with power cuts in my area (South Africa) but this is a really stupid flaw in the ecosystem…?

Which device and OS version are you using the Home app on?


Be sure to check for any software updates to help ensure the latest fixes and improvements have been applied. For iOS this page can help with that if needed: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.


If the device is using any VPNs or security/networking apps, try temporarily uninstalling these to see if that helps out.


It may help to try restarting the devices used, including the HomePod: If HomePod mini or HomePod isn't responding - Apple Support
